The Museum is now open Monday - Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Special arrangements can be made for tours at other times. The new addition is open and showing the Smithsonian Institute's Voices and Votes: Democracy in America until January 7, 2024. What a great treat for us!

We added some of our own displays to the new addition as well. Displays honoring A. Q. Miller, Telescope Editor and Road Builder. Jim Richardson, well known photojournalist for the National Geographic magazine and so much more. A display of the life and movie career of Scandia's Greta Grandstedt! and local well known barrel racer, Miriam Turner, with trophies and a saddle won in competition, as well as her biography and a photo of her making the turn at a barrel.

We have added a new page to our website, Family Genealogy Resources Available. This page lists family books, folders and unsorted boxes of genealogy, written histories and photographs of Republic County families. The public is welcome to use these materials for themselves. If you do not live nearly, we would be pleased to search records for you and send any materials we may have regarding your ancestors. Just call or e-mail and we can help out.

We'd love for you to join us at our monthly meetings; typically held the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm (call first-to double check!) Come make new friends, see old ones, and meet (relatively new!) museum board president Joseph Blecha, who recently returned to his hometown of Munden!

Also--for THESE monthly meetings...we now have COMFORTABLE padded seats for you to sit (we upgraded our seating!)
